Objectiu de la convocatòria
The joint fellowship between ECTRIMS and the European Magnetic Resonance Imaging in MS network (MAGNIMS) aims to foster the development of young researchers in the field of MS by supporting their work on scientific projects at host institutions within the MAGNIMS network in Europe.
Característiques principals
  • The ECTRIMS-MAGNIMS Fellowship is a research experience with a focus on magnetic resonance imaging. Prospective fellows must identify and present a cogent basic, clinical, or applied research project to be undertaken during the fellowship period, in collaboration with the fellowship mentor at the host institution.
  • Applicants pursuing a research fellowship experience in any MS-related research topic (basic, applied or clinical, in any relevant specialty area) will be considered.

    Requisits
  • Scientists and physicians who hold or are candidates for an MD, PhD, ScD or equivalent professional degree are eligible.
  • Applicants must have received their advanced degree(s) prior to the start of the fellowship.
  • At the time of application, applicants should not have worked in any capacity at the same institution and/or under the same mentor as proposed in the fellowship application.
  • It is recommended that institutes limit their support to one applicant per fellowship category.
  • It is recommended that applicants have no more than five years total of postdoctoral experience beyond their final degree (PhD, MD, ScD or equivalent) at the time of application.
  • In general, successful applicants will be under 40 years of age at the time of application; exceptions under special circumstances will be considered.
  • Citizens of any country are eligible to apply to this programme. However, research training must be undertaken in a European laboratory or clinic.
  • Applicants and their mentors must affirm that there will be no language barriers that will impede the training experience

    The following documents are required:
  • Letter of intention
  • Applicant’s curriculum vitae including her/his past experience, goals for training, future career plans and publications (not to exceed 5 pages)
  • Project description
  • Letter of acceptance from and short description of the host institution
  • Letter of support from the home institution
  • Acceptance of the ECTRIMS-MAGNIMS payment rules including a certification from the home institution accepting the terms of the ECTRIMS fellowship and payments. The necessary form is available from the online application system; the applicant should forward this form to the host institution for completion.
  • Applicant’s proof of sufficient English language knowledge to ensure no language barriers with their training location, and to hold presentations, write the final report and prepare a scientific article for an international journal.
