Característiques principals
The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) is offering three-year, $75,000 annual Young Investigator Awards to early-career researchers globally. The awards fund innovative prostate cancer research, prioritising translational studies with potential for near-term patient benefit and research addressing health disparities. Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria, including recent completion of a professional degree and mentorship. A comprehensive application, including a research proposal, mentorship plan, and letters of support, is required by 10th March 2025. The PCF encourages applications from traditionally under-represented groups.

Requisits
To be eligible for the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) 2025 Young Investigator Award, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Be within six years of completing a professional degree (MD, DO, PhD, MD-PhD, DSc, ScD, DDM, DDS, DMD, MBBS, or equivalent) or a subsequent mentored academic or clinical training programme, such as a postdoctoral or clinical fellowship.
  • Hold the title of Postdoctoral Fellow, Instructor, Research Associate, Assistant Professor, or equivalent.
  • Be under the direct supervision of one or more mentors. At least one mentor must be at the applicant's institution.
  • Have no more than $1,000,000 in direct research funding commitments from all sources, including institutional funds, at the time of application. Institutional startup packages are not included. Applicants must also submit a research proposal that meets the following requirements:
  • Addresses unmet medical needs in the diagnosis and treatment of potentially lethal prostate cancer
  • If successful, will provide high impact to the field
  • Priority will be given to “bench to bedside” translational research proposals with the potential to deliver near term benefit to patients

    To apply for the PCF Young Investigator Award, applicants must submit the following:
  • A scientific abstract (maximum 500 words)
  • A three-year research proposal (maximum five pages, plus references)
  • A letter of support from the applicant's mentor(s)
  • A letter of support from the applicant's Departmental Chairperson or Cancer Center Director
  • A mentorship plan (1-2 pages) from the mentor
  • The applicant's NIH biosketch (maximum 5 pages)
  • An NIH biosketch for each mentor (maximum five pages)
