Objectiu de la convocatòria
The HUB Alzheimer Barcelona (hereinafter, the “HUB”) is an initiative whose primary objective is to catalyse joint research activities to promote and accelerate innovation in Alzheimer's. A maximum of 3 PhD Fellowships will be granted.
Característiques principals
Projects must focus on Alzheimer’s disease or other age-related neurodegenerative diseases and address at least one of the following clinical research topics:
  • Biofluid biomarkers
  • Biological processes and molecular pathways associated with disease initiation, progression, or outcome
  • Clinical Medicine and Public Health
  • Development of novel research tools and resources
  • Digital biomarkers
  • Disease prevention
  • Epidemiological studies
  • Immunity & Inflammation
  • Genetic risk factors
  • Modifiable risk factors
  • Neuroimaging biomarkers
  • Neuropathology
  • Non-pharmacological interventions
  • Novel approaches to risk assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prevention
  • Tools to predict risk prediction, disease severity and disease protection

    Requisits
  • Early-career PhD Candidates of any nationality can apply to the PhD Fellowships.
  • PhD Candidates must hold a higher education degree that allows them to enroll in a doctoral programme before starting at the Host Institution.
  • PhD Candidates must be doctoral candidates, not already in possession of a doctoral degree, at the date of recruitment.

    The maximum grant amount will be of €148,000

    4-year (maximum) duration.
    Documentació
    Applications shall be submitted through the relevant application form: https://phdfellowships.hubalzheimerbcn.org/
    Applications shall be readable, accessible, printable, and written in english. Applications shall be complete and contain the following documents in .pdf:
    (a) A narrative CV for the applicant (template provided in Annex I).
    (b) Transcripts of the degree and master's programme of the applicant.
    (c) Confirmation that the applicant holds a higher education degree that allows them to enroll in a doctoral programme.
    (d) A narrative CV for each supervisor (2 co-supervisors from different HUB Institutions) (template provided in Annex II).
    (e) PhD project proposal (maximum of 4 pages, template provided in Annex III).
    (f) A Support letter signed by the legal representatives of the two HUB Institutions involved, authorizing the submission of the respective application to the PhD Fellowships and confirming the supervision by their designated researchers (template provided in Annex IV).
    AVÍS IMPORTANT
    A maximum of 2 applications can be submitted by a HUB Institution as the institution hiring the PhD Student (hereinafter, the “Host Institution”).
    The number of applications per centre is limited to two, therefore, expressions of interest will be received and a selection will be made on 14/03/2025. This selection will be made by Dr. Pablo Villoslada and Dr. Albert Puig-Pijoan (HUB operative members).
