Objectiu de la convocatòria
This fellowship supports experienced researchers who obtained their doctorate within the last twelve years and wish to carry out long-term research stays at a German institution. Candidates from all disciplines and countries may apply. Applicants must choose the German host institution and the research area in which they intend to undertake the stay.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Please submit the full application and supporting documents four to seven months prior to the planned selection date.

Requisits
Completion of the doctorate (or an equivalent academic qualification) during the last twelve years. If obtaining a doctorate in the applicant’s field or country of origin is not possible or uncommon, applications may be submitted up to 16 years after completing a master’s or other postgraduate degree, provided the applicant has a publication record commensurate with their career level.
Maintain an academic profile supported by an extensive list of publications in academic journals and with publishing houses that follow international peer-review standards.
Not have resided in Germany for more than a total of six months within the 18 months prior to the submission of the application. Applicants with previous direct funding from the Humboldt Foundation cannot apply.
Obtain a mentoring agreement and written confirmation that research facilities are available from the host expert of the chosen German institution.
Provide in the application two expert reviews from important collaborative partners and/or researchers at your own institute as well as other institutes – outside your country of origin, if possible.
Demostrate a good command of German if required for the research; otherwise, a good command of English is sufficient.

Dotació
€3,600 plus additional benefits.

Durada
Fellowships may last from 6 to 18 months and can be divided into up to three stays within three years, with each visit lasting at least three months.

Key publications
Doctoral certificate or proof of completion, or confirmation that the doctorate will be completed within six months
German language certificate, if required
If required, publisher acceptance notifications and/or acknowledgements, along with summaries or translations of key publications not available in German or English.
In addition, a statement from the host confirming the availability of research facilities and two expert reviews. These documents must be uploaded personally by the host(s) and reviewers in a protected area. The application can only be submitted once these documents have been uploaded.
