Objectiu de la convocatòria
The EACR Postdoctoral Fellowships support outstanding early-career researchers in laboratories across Europe and worldwide. Proposed projects should be basic and/or translational, with a preference for translational research, and must be directly applicable to at least one of the following cancer types: haematology, breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, gastric, ovarian, liver, colorectal, or paediatric cancer.

Projects should focus on one of the following research areas:
Immune modulating therapies (comprising both endogenous immunity and synthetic immunity approaches)
Tumour drivers
Mechanisms of sensitivity and resistance to targeted therapies
Novel approaches to drugging intractable targets
Novel antibody drug conjugate and radioconjugate approaches
Combination approaches with standard-of-care therapies
Approaches that enable AI-led linkage workflows across preclinical, translational, and clinical stages (e.g., multimodal data integration, predictive biomarker development, and validated pipelines for response forecasting and patient selection)
Projects aiming to develop an application, commercial product, process, or device may be considered if they address a fundamental biology question.

This call follows a two-step procedure. Applications and supporting documents must be submitted via the EACR online system.

Requisits
Applicants must be EACR members with a PhD and with no more than 8 years postdoctoral experience (excluding career breaks such as parental leave or long-term illness) at the outline proposal submission deadline.
Applicants must work actively in cancer research, for example in academia, industry, or as a clinician or physician scientist, provided that a maximum of 20% of their time is spent in the clinic.
Only one application per call is allowed, but applicants may submit to multiple calls.
Applications to join a laboratory already hosting an active fellow funded by this programme will not be eligible, unless there is no overlap between the funding periods of the two fellowships.
Applicants must have had at least one first (or joint first) author primary research paper published in an international peer reviewed journal at the time of application. Papers must be published in English. Abstracts and review articles are excluded. No publication updates are allowed once the selection process has started.
Fellows must be based at a European academic institution for the duration of their fellowship. Up to a one-year placement at an AstraZeneca site may be arranged if mutually beneficial; fellows will be responsible for any costs associated, including travel and accommodation.
Applications to work in an industrial or for-profit research laboratory will not be considered.

Dotació
Funding will cover the salary of the awardee, based on the EMBO Fellowship rates, plus a 20% uplift.
