Objectiu de la convocatòria
This grant supports early-career investigators to pursue neuroendocrine cancer research and commit to the field. Projects must be led by a single principal investigator, with or without collaborators, and include two aims to be completed within a two-year timeframe.
Característiques principals
  • Research Areas of Interest
    - Early Detection: Approaches to identify neuroendocrine cancer at earlier, more treatable stages, including biomarker and assay development, imaging, and risk prediction models.
    - New Therapeutic Development: Discovery and advancement of innovative treatments, such as targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and novel modalities.
    - Precision Medicine: Strategies to match therapies to individual patients based on tumor biology, biomarkers, and disease characteristics.

  • Tumor Types:
Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) across sites and stages, including well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors (G1–G3) and poorly differentiated extrapulmonary neuroendocrine carcinoma (epNEC), including metastatic, unknown primary, and hereditary cases (e.g., MEN1, VHL, NF1, SDHx) when NEN biology is central. MiNEN are eligible when the neuroendocrine component is biologically or clinically driving; neuroendocrine features within other primary cancer types are not eligible.

A complete list of eligible NEN types and out-of-scope tumor types is provided in the guidelines.
