Objectiu de la convocatòria
The Lupus Innovation Award supports pioneering, high-risk, high-reward lupus research, with a focus on fundamental mechanisms, novel targets and pathways, innovative technologies, and interdisciplinary approaches. Both early-career and established investigators new to lupus are encouraged to apply.
Característiques principals
Projects must address or be aligned with at least one of the following research priorities:
  • Defining human lupus heterogeneity by molecular pathology to stratify patients by active disease mechanisms.
  • Integrating the research continuum to bring advances to patients.
  • Enabling global research/technology collaborations.

    The call follows a two-step procedure. LOIs must be submitted via the LRA Grants Management System by 11:59 pm (US ET) on the stated deadline. All templates and instructions can be downloaded from there.
    Requisits
  • At the time of LOI submission, applicants must hold a doctoral degree (MD, PhD, DO, or equivalent), have a faculty or equivalent position, and lead an independent research team at an academic, nonprofit, or government research institution.
  • There are no citizenship requirements.
  • The same research project may not be submitted for consideration under multiple LRA grant mechanisms in the same year.
  • Continuations of long-term research projects are not eligible under this grant mechanism.
  • Projects with significant overlap with currently active LRA-funded grants will not be considered.

    $150,000 per year
    Durada
    2 years. Early-stage investigators are eligible for a third year of funding.
