Objectiu de la convocatòria
This program offers short-term training opportunities for early-career scientists and clinicians in respiratory medicine to carry out projects at research institutions outside their home country, with the aim of acquiring research techniques not available at their home institution.
Característiques principals
  • Standard: For clinicians or researchers from European centres to conduct projects in another European country.
  • International: For clinicians or researchers from European centres to conduct projects outside Europe.
  • Scientifically Developing Countries: For applicants based in scientifically developing countries, or in European countries with limited training opportunities, to conduct projects at a European institution outside their home country.
  • ERS/SEPAR Joint Fellowship: For researchers based in Spain to conduct projects at European institutions outside Spain, and for researchers based inside or outside Europe to undertake projects at institutions in Spain.

    Requisits
  • Open to applicants of all nationalities and ages, with priority given to researchers at an early stage of their career. Established investigators are not eligible.
  • Applicants must be postgraduates holding a university degree in a field related to respiratory medicine (MD, MSc, PhD, or MD-PhD).
  • Postgraduate scientists such as immunologists, biologists, geneticists, pharmacologists, biophysicists, chemists, and related disciplines involved in respiratory science are eligible to apply, requiring at least an MD or MSc at the time of application.
  • Qualified healthcare professionals (non-MD) working in respiratory health or medicine—including nurses, physiotherapists, respiratory function technologists, and other allied respiratory professionals—are also eligible, provided they hold a minimum of an MSc or equivalent at the time of application.
  • Applicants must be active ERS members at the time of application.
  • Applicants should have adequate fluency in the language spoken at the host institution.
  • At the application deadline, applicants must not have worked or resided in the host country during the previous twelve months.
  • Exchanges between two institutions within the same country are not allowed.
  • The fellowship must be carried out on a full-time basis (100%), it cannot be split into separate periods, and recipients are required to return to their home institution upon completion.
  • Several applicants may apply to the same host institution; however, no more than one applicant per department within the same host institution will be selected.
  • Applicants who have previously been awarded a CTF are not eligible. Recipients of other ERS fellowships may apply provided that the previous fellowship was completed at least six months before the application deadline and the final report has been submitted.
  • Funds are not granted for workshops, courses, lectures, meetings, conferences, congresses, or visiting institutions.
