The AXA Chairs are high-profile grants that support senior researchers in building and leading ambitious transdisciplinary research networks, combining disciplines from the social sciences, humanities, or economics with those from the natural sciences, engineering, or technology.

Requisits
Only academic institutions and public research organizations (e.g. universities or public research institutes) are eligible to act as host institutions.
Each host institution may submit only one AXA Chair application per campaign as the lead institution, although institutions may participate as partners in multiple Chair networks.
Candidates must hold a PhD obtained at least ten years prior to the application deadline.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate the highest academic caliber, including an outstanding track record of publications, international recognition, experience in transdisciplinary research across multiple disciplines, and strong engagement with non-academic stakeholders.
Projects must integrate at least two academic disciplines, including at least one discipline from the social sciences, humanities, or economics and at least one discipline from the natural sciences, engineering, or technology.
Projects should involve at least one non-academic partner (e.g. a public authority, municipality, NGO, community organization, public hospital, or professional association) as a partner in the co-design and co-implementation of the research.

As the institution can submit only one candidate to this call, an internal selection process will be carried out. Candidates wishing to apply are requested to express their interest by 27 March. Candidates who have submitted an expression of interest must then send the required documentation by 2 April, including a CV (maximum 3 pages) and the title and description of the research program (max. 3,000 characters including spaces).
