Objectiu de la convocatòria
This program supports both established and early-career investigators in developing research tools, techniques, model systems, and data collection platforms to advance and accelerate research on rare epilepsies.
Característiques principals
Each award is jointly funded by CURE Epilepsy and one or more rare epilepsy advocacy organizations. Eligible projects should align with CURE Epilepsy's mission and focus on the partner organizations' priority rare epilepsies:
  • Channeling Hope Foundation (NALCN gene, sodium leak channel, non-selective)
  • The Rory Belle Foundation (NARS1 gene)
  • YWHAG Research Foundation (Tyrosine 3-Monooxygenase/Tryptophan 5-Monooxygenase Activation Protein Gamma (YWHAG) gene)
  • ZTTK SON-Shine Foundation (Zhu-Tokita-Takenouchi-Kim (ZTTK) syndrome)

    The call follows a two-stage submission process. Letters of Intent (LOI) must be submitted via ProposalCentral.
    Requisits
  • Established investigators are university faculty at the associate professor level or above, or hold an equivalent position in a non-university research organization.
  • Early-career investigators include: (a) university faculty at the assistant professor level or equivalent positions in non-university research organizations, (b) instructors or research assistant professors, (c) postdoctoral fellows with at least three years of postdoctoral experience, or (d) clinical fellows.
  • Early-career investigators must have a mentor committed to advising the applicant. A clearly articulated mentorship statement from the mentor must be submitted with the application.
