Objectiu de la convocatòria
This program supports researchers pursuing pioneering research leading to greater understanding, prevention, and treatment of age-related macular degeneration.
Característiques principals
MDR program offers three types of awards:
  • Postdoctoral Fellowship Program: supports postdoctoral training for basic or clinician-scientists within 4 years of their terminal degree, or within 2 years of completing final clinical training.
  • New Investigator Grant Program: tsupports early independent investigators working on the causes and/or treatment of macular degeneration, restricted to those within 10 years of their MD, PhD or equivalent degree, with exceptions considered in unusual circumstances.
  • Standard Award Program: supports tenure- and non-tenure track investigators more than 10 years post-terminal degree who can lead independent basic, translational and/or clinical studies on macular degeneration. It is intended for investigators new to the field, coming from vision research, or proposing a substantially new idea within macular degeneration.
