Nominations are accepted online on a rolling basis.
Requisits
  • Candidates must be nominated by established researchers at research institutions in Germany; self-nominations are not accepted.
  • Nominees must have obtained their doctorate no more than 18 years ago, although justified exceptions may be considered.
  • Nominees must have lived and worked outside Germany for more than five years at the time of nomination.
  • Nominees must not hold permanent employment in Germany at the time of selection.
  • Nominees must not have previously received an award from the Humboldt Foundation for their academic work.
  • Award winners are invited to carry out a research project of their choice at a German research institution, in cooperation with specialist colleagues there.
