Objectiu de la convocatòria
This grant program supports research on ALK-positive lung cancer, particularly studies on ALK rearrangements and the development of new therapeutic approaches. Proposals linked to an ongoing or planned clinical trial are preferred.
Característiques principals
Project topics include, but are not limited to:
  • Early Progression and Metastatic Patterns
    - Understanding why some ALK-positive lung cancers progress more rapidly
    - Investigating the role of leptomeningeal disease
    - Mechanisms of tumor persistence, including persister cells
  • Impact of Co-Mutations and ALK Variants
    - Effects of additional mutations (e.g., MET) on tumor biology and treatment resistance
    - Differential treatment responses across ALK variants
  • Tumor Microenvironment
    - Approaches to reprogram or modulate the tumor microenvironment to enhance immune activity
  • Metabolic Vulnerabilities
    - Identifying metabolic pathways essential for ALK-positive tumor survival
    - Strategies to improve immunotherapy efficacy or stimulate immune recognition of ALK-positive tumors
  • Novel Therapies Beyond TKIs
    - Development of vaccines, cell therapies, and other innovative therapeuticapproaches

    The call follows a two-stage application process, and applications must be submitted through ProposalCentral.
    Requisits
  • Applicants must be affiliated with a non-profit academic or research institution. Industry collaborators can be included.
  • Applicants may have any level of research experience.
  • Applicants cannot receive overlapping funding from LCRF and may submit only one LCRF grant application per award cycle.
