Objectiu de la convocatòria
This program supports translational research on drug development, prevention strategies, and biomarker tools for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
Característiques principals
There are three funding mechanisms:
  • Drug Development: supports IND-enabling studies and early-phase clinical trials testing promising pharmacological interventions and devices for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, with a focus on diverse drug mechanisms and modes of action related to the biology of aging and emerging therapeutic areas for dementia.
  • Prevention: supports human studies assessing whether precision prevention strategies, combination therapies, or comparative effectiveness approaches may reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease or other dementias, particularly in populations with specific genetic, biomarker, or modifiable risk factors.
  • Neuroimaging and CSF Biomarker: supports the development and validation of established neuroimaging and CSF biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, with a clear clinical need, a defined context of use, and potential for clinical and/or commercial translation.

    Applications follow a two-step process. LOIs must be submitted through the ADDF Funding Portal.
    Requisits
    Funding is open to researchers and clinicians worldwide from academic medical centers, universities, or nonprofits, as well as biotechnology companies, including existing companies and new startups; industry partnerships are encouraged.
