This program funds innovative research to advance the understanding, prevention, and treatment of glaucoma. Two award types are available: Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards and Standard Awards.

Característiques principals
Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards support postdoctoral researchers and clinician-scientists in the final stages of mentored training. These awards are intended to serve as the basis for the applicant's future independent research career.
Standard Awards support high-risk, high-reward research by investigators who have generated preliminary data but need to demonstrate additional progress before applying to governmental or industrial funding agencies. Postdoctoral fellows may apply as Co-Principal Investigators.

Requisits
Postdoctoral Fellowship: Applicants must hold an MD, PhD, DVM, DO, OD, or equivalent degree and be within 4 years of completing their terminal research degree or post-graduate clinical/research training, whichever date is later. Applicants may apply before completing their terminal research degree if they have a firm commitment from the host laboratory head. Exceptions to the eligibility period may be considered under unusual circumstances. Previous recipients of this award are not eligible.
Standard Award: Applicants must be tenure- or non-tenure-track investigators at any career stage, hold an MD, PhD, DVM, DO, OD, or equivalent degree, serve as Principal Investigator, and have the space and resources necessary to conduct the proposed research.
