Objectiu de la convocatòria
The EFSD/Boehringer Ingelheim European Diabetes Research Programmes are intended to stimulate and accelerate European research in diabetes in the specific areas of common interest.
Característiques principals
  • The EFSD/Boehringer Ingelheim European Diabetes Basic Research Programme is intended to stimulate and accelerate European research in diabetes in the specific area of regulation of secretion and/or function of non-beta cell pancreatic hormones. In particular, proposals dealing with the following are especially but not exclusively welcome: investigation of the role, function and mechanism of non-beta cells; crosstalk between various hormones and/or cell types of the endocrine pancreas.
  • The EFSD/Boehringer Ingelheim European Clinical Diabetes Research Programmes are intended to stimulate and accelerate European research in diabetes in the specific area of mechanisms relating renal dysfunction to cardiovascular disease in type 2 diabetes. In particular, proposals dealing with the following are especially, but not exclusively, welcome: investigating novel biomarkers in the clinical setting: the translation of experimental hypotheses into the clinical setting and with clinical results.

    Requisits
    Applications for an EFSD/Boehringer Ingelheim grant are invited from single non-profit institutions or groups of such institutions from Europe and associated countries. The principal investigator and any co-investigators must be employed full-time at a non-profit institution and the study must be performed at their place of work.
