Objectiu de la convocatòria
ERACoSysMed is the first Systems Medicine oriented ERA-NET under Horizon 2020. The 14 participating funding bodies agreed on a joint agenda to specifically support demonstrator projects that identify areas where a systems approach addresses a clinical question and provides solution strategies to clinical problems.
Característiques principals
The call aims to support the development of Proof of Concept projects (demonstrator projects) which will improve our understanding of Systems Medicine and demonstrate the utility of this approach in a clinical setting.
Demonstrator projects should demonstrate the translation of Systems Biology approaches into medical research and practice (Proof of Concept).

Requisits
Eligibility of projects:
  • Only transnational research projects will be funded. Each consortium submitting a proposal must involve a minimum of three and a maximum of six eligible partners from three different countries participating in the call (not more than two eligible partners per country/funding agency).
  • Non-eligible partners that will not receive funding from the 1st ERACoSysMed joint transnational call (JTC-1) may participate in a consortium, providing their own money. The maximum number of partners should not exceed 8 (to avoid an imbalance, a minimum of 50% of all partners must be eligible). Not more than two eligible research groups from the same partner country participating in the call will be accepted.
    Eligibility of Spanish participants:
    - Eligible organisations:
  • Hospitals
  • Primary health care or public health settings (from the National Health Service) with legal address in Spain (for further information please check Spanish Act 50/ 2002, December 26th).
  • Certified Health Research Institutes in accordance with the Royal Decree 339/2004 (only if the Spanish applicant is the consortium coordinator).
  • CIBERs (only if the Spanish applicant is the consortium coordinator).
    - Eligible PIs:
  • Only one application can be submitted per Spanish partner: additional submissions will be rejected.
  • PI must be a senior researcher and have a contractual relationship with an eligible organisation.
  • Research team members must have a contractual relationship/fellowship with an eligible organisation.
    - Excluded personnel as Principal Investigator (PI):
  • Those undergoing a postgraduate training in Health Specialisation.
  • Those currently undergoing research training (e.g. PhD students, or “Rio Hortega Programme”).
  • Research personnel contracted by a RETICS or a CONSOLIDER.
  • Those undergoing Post-doctoral training (e.g. “Sara Borrell“ or “Juan de la Cierva” contracts).

  • Maximum € 100,000.00 per project partner. Should there be 2 Spanish partners funded by ISCIII in the same proposal, a maximum of € 150,000.00 may be awarded.
  • Maximum € 150,000.00 per consortium coordinator. Should there be 2 Spanish partners funded by ISCIII in the same proposal, a maximum of € 200,000.00 may be awarded
  • Durada
    Up to three years
    AVÍS IMPORTANT
    The 1st ERACoSysMed joint transnational call which is co-funded by the EU will be coordinated centrally by the Joint Call Secretariat (JCS) and will be conducted simultaneously by the funding organizations in their respective countries.
    The call will be implemented through a two-step evaluation procedure including submission and evaluation of pre-proposals (deadline 30th March) and full proposals (deadline 30th June). Applicants must refer and comply with the specific regulations of the national funding organizations (see Annex II).
    Important: After the international evaluation has taken place, all Spanish applicants invited to the full-proposal stage, must submit the project proposal along other documents, via ISCIIIs online submission tool.
    Therefore applicants are strongly encouraged to contact their respective contact person for any queries related to their national regulations.
