Objectiu de la convocatòria
Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer, Inc. (WOKC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funding pediatric cancer research. WOKC provides grants to support meritorious research ranging from basic laboratory investigation to clinical management of pediatric cancers. For all awarded grants, collaboration with a pediatric cancer treatment center and an institution with basic and/or clinical research programs are encouraged. |

Característiques principals
Research Grants are offered to encourage the development of new information that contributes to the understanding, treatment, and cure of pediatric cancers. In addition, consideration will be given to those projects that provide insight into information that may contribute to the development of new therapies for pediatric cancers. All proposals must be hypothesis driven, and sufficient preliminary data must be provided to justify the WOKC support. Information derived from these studies should have high potential for sustainable future support from other funding agencies, such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Research Grant applications should focus on basic science research or clinical research. Those proposals that include methodologies requiring sampling of materials from human subjects will be considered under this mechanism only if the sampling method constitutes minimal patient risk and are approved by the clinical/research institutions internal review board. All other projects utilizing human subjects must submit a Clinical Research Letter of Intent. |

Requisits
Applicants must be independent investigators, or clinical or research receiving direct oversight/mentorship by an independent investigator. Applicants need not be U.S. Citizens or hold a U.S. permanent visa to apply for this award. International applicants and institutions are required to submit additional information in accordance with U.S. anti-terror restrictions. |
