Objectiu de la convocatòria
JDRF is the world’s leading non-profit organization with the mission to cure type 1 diabetes (T1D). The purpose of this call is to invite proposals to support and advance the discovery, development, and/or validation of biomarkers of pancreatic beta cell stress and dysfunction. Studies based on use or validation with human beta cells/islets and clinical samples or tissues will be of special interest.
Característiques principals
Strategic Research Agreement are designed to provide research funding for single or multiple investigators to address critical gaps and challenges and potential breakthroughs in Type 1 diabetes research.

  • Single Project: one principal investigator and one research group
  • Multi-Project: collaborations between several researchers from different institutions
  • Clinical Project: early-stage clinical trials to test therapeutic approaches as well as non-interventional patient oriented studies

    Requisits
    Applicant
    Required: MD, DMD, DVM, PhD, or equivalent and faculty position or equivalent.
    Institution
    Domestic & foreign non-profit organizations; public & private universities, colleges, hospitals, laboratories; units of state & local governments; eligible agencies of the federal government.
    Dotació
    Budget depends on the project type. Indirect costs cannot exceed 10% of direct costs (direct costs do not include equipment costs, fee-for-services, consultants, or subcontract costs).
    Durada
    Up to 3 years.

    Proposals will follow a 2-step procedure:
  • Step 1: Project Concept
  • Step 2: Full Application: If the applicant’s Project Concept is approved by JDRF, the applicant will be invited to submit a full research application.
