Objectiu de la convocatòria
The Breast Cancer Research Program (BCRP) challenges the scientific community to design research that will address the urgency of ending breast cancer. Specifically, the BCRP seeks to accelerate high-impact research with clinical relevance, encourage innovation and stimulate creativity,and facilitate productive collaborations.

BCRP Overarching Challenges
Consistent with the program’s overall goal, the BCRP encourages applications to address one of the following BCRP overarching challenges:
  • Prevent breast cancer (primary prevention)
  • Identify determinants of breast cancer initiation, risk, or susceptibility
  • Distinguish deadly from indolent breast cancers
  • Conquer the problems of overdiagnosis and overtreatment
  • Identify what drives breast cancer growth; determine how to stop it
  • Identify why some breast cancers become metastatic
  • Determine why/how breast cancer cells lie dormant for years and then re-emerge (recurrence); determine how to prevent recurrence
  • Revolutionize treatment regimens by replacing them with ones that are more effective and less toxic
  • Eliminate the mortality associated with metastatic breast cancer
    The BCRP is currently accepting applications for two award mechanisms: Breakthrough Award Levels 1 and 2 II, and Breakthrough Award Levels 3 and 4 II. Each award mechanism has different deadlines, funding limits and eligibility requirements. Please consult the Synopsis of BCRP FY2016 Award Mechanisms document in order to find the most convenient mechanism for your research project. You will find the complete information on the selected mechanism in the corresponding Program Announcement.

    SUBMISSION INFORMATION:
    All award mechanisms require a Pre-application through the Electronic Biomedical Research Application Portal (https://ebrap.org/). Deadline November 3rd, 2016 (Breakthrough Award Levels 1 and 2 II) and September 14th, 2016 (Breakthrough Award Levels 3 and 4 II)
    Succesfull pre-applications will be invited to submit a full application submission through Grants.gov (http://www.grants.gov/). Deadline November 17th, 2016 (Breakthrough Award Levels 1 and 2 II) and December 8th, 2016 (Breakthrough Award Levels 3 and 4 II)
