Objectiu de la convocatòria
The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) carries out programs that provide overseas researchers who have an excellent record of research achievements with an opportunity to conduct collaborative research, discussions, and opinion exchanges with researchers in Japan. These programs are intended to help advance the overseas researchers' research activities while promoting science and internationalization in Japan.
Característiques principals
To provide opportunities for excellent young postdoctoral researchers from other countries to conduct, under the guidance of their hosts, cooperative research with leading research groups in universities and other Japanese institutions. The program provides a step in preparing overseas researchers to become full-time researchers at Japanese universities and other research institutions. It is designed to lead to the full-time employment of overseas researchers who will play an active role in advancing their Japanese institution’s collaborative research and internationalization through such means as helping to foster globally-oriented students and faculty.

Requisits
1. Be a citizen of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan (JSPS treats Taiwanese and Palestinian researchers in this manner.)
2. Hold a doctorate degree when the Fellowship goes into effect, which must have been received on or after April 2, 2007, or be scheduled to receive a doctorate degree before the Fellowship goes into effect.
3. Have a desire to continue engaging in research and education at the host institution in a full-time employment capacity.
Note: Those who have previously been awarded a fellowship under this JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (Pathway) are not eligible.

    12 to 24 months
    AVÍS IMPORTANT
    There is one application period each year. The next application periods is:
  • August 29-September 2, 2016(by 5 p.m. (JST))

    Applications under this program must be submitted to JSPS by a host researcher in Japan. Overseas researchers wishing to participate in the program are advised to establish contact with a Japanese or foreign-resident researcher in their field and to ask him/her to submit an application.
