Objectiu de la convocatòria
Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) is a membership organisation that exists to help the global health community accelerate the fight against cancer.
Founded in 1933 and based in Geneva, UICC’s growing membership of over 900 organisations across 155 countries, features the world’s major cancer societies, ministries of health, research institutes and patient groups. Together with its members, key partners, the World Health Organization, World Economic Forum and others, UICC is tackling the growing cancer crisis on a global scale.
Característiques principals
The YY grant provides an important opportunity to advance cancer research through international collaboration. Their purpose is to enable cancer investigators from any country to carry out bilateral research projects abroad which exploit complementary materials or skills, including advanced training in experimental methods or special techniques.

Target candidates: Investigators, clinicians, epidemiologists, and public health professionals.

Research plan:
  • Basic, translational or applied cancer research
  • Prevention-oriented projects are especially encouraged
    Note: This is not a clinical training fellowship

    Requisits
  • Possess PhD (or equivalent degree: please see Candidate Eligibility document) at least 2 years prior to the application closing date of the YY Selection applied for
  • Actively engaged in cancer research
  • Have recent publications in the international peer-reviewed literature
