Objectiu de la convocatòria
Gilead Sciences, Inc. is a research-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops and commercializes innovative medicines in areas of unmet medical need. Gilead's portfolio of products and pipeline of investigational drugs includes treatments for HIV/AIDS, liver diseases, cancer, inflammatory and respiratory diseases, and cardiovascular conditions.
Característiques principals
The program is designed to support innovative translational research projects in hematologic malignancies that can be based around either a clinical trial or laboratory investigation.

Requisits
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Hold an MD, PhD, or equivalent degree at time of award
  • Anticipate receiving a faculty appointment or an assistant professorship within 3 years, in association with a research institution in one of the eligible regions/countries at the time of application (see below for list of regions/countries). NOTE: Applicants already holding a tenured position or an Associate Professorship are not eligible.
  • Have a strong career interest in hematology/oncology, with a focus on hematologic malignancies
  • Have a research mentor with extensive experience in the field of hematology/oncology, with a focus on hematologic malignancies
  • Be able to devote at least 50% of their professional time to research (versus administrative, patient care, or teaching responsibilities)
  • Be able to complete the proposed research within the 2-year award period, providing evidence (manuscript, presentation, or abstracts) for future research projects
  • Applicants must reside in one of the eligible countries/regions: Australia, Europe, Honl Kong, Japan, Middle East, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan
  • An applicant must be a citizen or permanent resident of the country/region in which they propose to conduct the research, or otherwise hold a temporary study or nonimmigrant visa which allows legal residency in the country/region in which the research will be performed. Such visa must be valid for the two-year award period (1 July 2018 - 30 June 2020).

    Awards granted under the program may not be duplicative of funding from institutional or hospital, other governmental, non-governmental, or industry sources. Applicants seeking an award for research projects that are currently receiving or may receive partial funding from other sources are required to submit appropriate evidence, including budget information related to the other sources, to demonstrate that there is no direct overlap or duplication in funding.
  • Dotació
    Up to USD130,000, to be paid in annual installments of up to USD65,000 per year for 2 years.
