Objectiu de la convocatòria
An annual Prize entitled "Prix Fondation ARC Léopold Griffuel" was created in 1970. The prize is awarded to an investigator or a team, whose work has led to a major breakthrough in basic research or in applied research in oncology.
The award is divided into two distinct categories:
  • Basic Research Award;
  • Translational and Clinical Award.

    Requisits
  • The maximum number of researchers per nomination may not exceed six. Each applicant must be under 65 in the nomination year and still be involved in research.
  • Applications must enroll in one of the two following categories: Basic Research Award or Translational and Clinical Award in accordance with Article 6 of the rules.
  • All candidates must be sponsored by at least two internationally renowned scientists.
  • The application letter must be presented, either directly by the sponsors, or by the candidate himself/herself, who then should obtain the letters of recommendation directly from his/her sponsors. Sponsors may only support one candidate per session.
  • Applications may be submitted by members of Fondation ARC’s scientific committees as well as Fondation ARC’s Board of Directors. Said members may be sponsors, but may not be nominees or members of nominated teams. The number of applications per candidate, individual or team, is limited to 3 sessions of the Award.
  • Dotació
    €150,000 for each category.
    Documentació
    The application has to be completed in English and must contain the following items:
  • Candidate(s) should mention the prize category in which s/he apply (Basic Research Award or Translational and Clinical Award);
  • Completed CV/résumé of each candidate including a list of scientific awards received by the candidate(s);
  • Individual or joint letter(s) of recommendation signed by two internationally renowned scientists, indicating the reasons for nominating the candidate(s).This letter of recommendation should highlight the candidate’s outstanding contributions which have led to a major discovery in the field of cancer and, in the case of several candidates, their respective contributions.
  • List of 5 key words by order of relevance to the scientific work conducted.
  • List of up to 20 publications of the candidate(s) related to the research on which the nomination is based.
  • Reprint of the 3 most significant publications
  • Name and address of the research team’s parent organization designated to receive the dedicated funds, according to article 3 of the present rules.
