Característica
Objectiu de la convocatòria
Multi-disciplinary and translational research projects carried out by international consortia.
Característiques principals
The aim of the call is to enable scientists from different countries to come together and build effective collaborations on the early detection of CVD for the prevention of VCI.
Research should focus on the association between vascular and cardiac precipitating or causa-tive factors, and the molecular effectors to prevent the onset of VCI. Projects should have a clear translational research approach with a potential clinical impact
Research proposals submitted to this call should address one of the following sub-themes:
  • Interdisciplinary approaches (e.g., integrating biomedicine, physics, chemistry, mathemat-ics or systems biology) to explore pathophysiological processes (e.g., microcirculation), de-velop applications for diagnosis, or new therapeutic approaches.
  • Research on sex or gender differences, co-morbidities or in segmented populations, in or-der to give further mechanistic insights into the development and progression of VCI, to identify novel risk/protective factors and differences in treatment responses.
No funding will be provided for already existing studies.

    Requisits
Each consortium submitting a proposal must involve a minimum of three (3) to a maximum of five (5) eligible partners. Additionally, eligible partners must come from at least three (3) different countries participating in the call. A consortium must not involve more than one partner from the same country or region participating in the call, unless the second partner is an associated partner who secures their own funding. As an exception, two (2) appli-cants from Spain may be comprised in the same research consortium. For Belgium, two (2) ap-plicants per consortium are also allowed; however, participation is limited to one applicant per region/community. This in practice comes down to one applicant per participating Belgian funding agency per consortium.
In order to strengthen the European research area in the field of CVDs, a wide inclusion of re-searchers from all the countries/regions participating in the call is encouraged, with a particular attention to research teams from Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Slovakia and Turkey. Research consor-tia including teams from these countries may increase the total number of eligible partners to six (6).
Other consortium eligibility requirements apply. Please check the Call text.
Although applications must be submitted jointly by groups from several countries, the individual research groups will be funded by their respective national funding organization(s). Eligibility criteria are the matter of individual partner funding organizations.
Please contact the Servei de Recerca of you intend to apply for this call, in order to confirm your eligibility
