Objectiu de la convocatòria
TThe PCRP seeks to promote highly innovative, groundbreaking research; high-impact research with near-term clinical relevance; the next generation of prostate cancer investigators through mentored research; and resources that will facilitate translational research.
Característiques principals
The mission of the FY20 PCRP is to fund research that will lead to the elimination of death from prostate cancer and enhance the well-being of Service members, Veterans, and all men experiencing the impact of the disease. Within this context, the PCRP is interested in supporting research that addresses specific gaps in prostate cancer research and clinical care, with an emphasis on investing in research that will benefit patients diagnosed with lethal prostate cancer or improve quality of life for men diagnosed with this disease.

Therefore, applications are required to address one or more of the following FY20 PCRP Overarching Challenges:
  • Improve the quality of life for survivors of prostate cancer
  • Develop treatments that improve outcomes for men with lethal prostate cancer
  • Reduce lethal prostate cancer in African descent, Veterans, and other high-risk and underserved populations
  • Define the biology of lethal prostate cancer to reduce death

    The PCRP is currently accepting applications for two award mechanisms:
  • Early Investigator Research Award: researchers with 3 years or less of postdoctoral research experience.
  • Physician Research Award: physicians in the last year of an accredited graduate medical education program, either as a resident or fellow;or within 5 years of having initiated a faculty appointment.

    Each award mechanism has different funding limits and eligibility requirements. Please consult the Synopsis of PCRP FY2020 Award Mechanisms document in order to find the most convenient mechanism for your research project. You will find the complete information on the selected mechanism in the corresponding Program Announcement.

    SUBMISSION INFORMATION:
    All award mechanisms require a Pre-application/Letter of Intent through the electronic Biomedical Research Application Portal (eBRAP) https://ebrap.org/ Principal Investigators and organizational representatives should register in eBRAP as soon as possible.

    Succesful pre-applications will be invited to submit a full application submission through Grants.gov (http://www.grants.gov/)
