Objectiu de la convocatòria
EMBO Scientific Exchange Grants fund research exchanges of up to three months between laboratories in eligible countries. The grants facilitate collaborations with research groups with expertise techniques or infrastructure that is unavailable in the applicant’s laboratory.

Requisits
  • Applicants must be active researchers at any stage in their career with a minimum of one year of research experience at the PhD-student level, or the equivalent at the time of application.
  • EMBO Scientific Exchange Grants are awarded for research exchanges between laboratories in EMBC Member States, Associated Member States or Cooperation Partners. The grants are not awarded for exchanges between two laboratories within the same country.Only in exceptional cases will the grants be awarded for research visits outside the countries listed and it will be essential to justidy it.
  • Applications from outside EMBC Member States, Associated Member States or Cooperation Partners will not be considered.
  • Applications to work with former colleagues, PhD or postdoc supervisors or to work in laboratories previously visited will not be considered.
  • Applications to visit laboratories in the context of an already existing collaboration or involving previous exchanges of scientists will not be considered.
  • In order for the home laboratory to benefit from the exchange, on completion of the fellowship applicants are required to immediately return to their home laboratory where they must remain for at least six consecutive months.
    • Dotació
    EMBO Scientific Exchange Grants contribute towards travel costs and subsistence of the fellow but not of any dependents. The subsistence rate depends on the country being visited. Research Exchange Grants do not provide additional funding for courses, conference travel, bench fees or overheads. EMBO does not cover visa costs.
    Durada
    1 week (7 days) up to 3 months (90 days).
    AVÍS IMPORTANT
    There is no deadline for applications, however it is recommended to apply three months before the proposed starting date. Applications received or completed only after the start of the visit will not be considered.
