Objectiu de la convocatòria
The objective of this call is to promote research training for PSMAR residents who can contribute to strengthening the critical research mass at PSMAR.
Característiques principals
For the seventh year, these grants will be offered in the form of employment contracts to provide residents with a research vocation the opportunity to receive training in this field. In 2024, up to two one-year research grants will be awarded, with funding provided by both HMRIB and the candidate's Research Group or Service.
Priority will be given to candidates who have the potential to be integrated into the workplace and continue working in the PSMAR clinical services.

  • Requisits
  • PSMAR residents who will complete their residency in 2024 and are part of the research groups at HMRIB may apply. In exceptional cases, PSMAR residents who have completed their residency in previous years may also apply. Priority will be given to candidates who have applied to the Rio Hortega contract call for 2024.
  • The application must be endorsed and signed by the principal investigator of the research project and the candidate's supervisor. The supervisor must hold a doctoral degree or have accredited experience in research and belong to one of the HMRIB research groups. The principal investigator and supervisor may or may not be the same person, but the principal investigator must be an HMRIB researcher.
  • Dotació
    HMRIB will provide compensation corresponding to the Technician IIA level as per the established salary scales.
    Durada
    The contract will be formalized through Fundació Institut Hospital del Mar de Investigacions Mèdiques and will be a full-time, one-year contract. The candidate must begin their placement on October 1, 2024. If the candidate does not assume the post by this date without justification, the grant may be cancelled.
    Documentació
    The following documentation must be received:
  • Full application form, which should be signed by the candidate, the supervisor, and the principal investigator (PI) of the research project.
  • CV of the candidate (preferably in CVA-ISCIII format).
  • Academic record of the candidate.
  • CV of the supervisor (in the form provided in this call).
  • Rio Hortega grant documentation (in case this has been submitted).
  • An overview of the research project to be carried out by the candidate, including the following sections: objectives, method, expected results, impact for society, and the possibilities for publishing results derived from the placement or continued collaboration with the research project. This should be a maximum of three pages long, using the form provided in this call.
  • A presentation letter from the candidate signed by the supervisor. The letter should state whether the funded research project is the candidate's thesis project or not.
  • A report by the Head of Service endorsing the proposal and setting out the possible prospects for integrating the candidate into the PSMAR staff.
  • A signed commitment by the Head of Service/Group to cover any additional costs associated with on-call work.
  • Incompatibilitats
    This grant is incompatible with any other type of public employment contract, except for on-call work, which can be a maximum of four times per month or the equivalent in attendance hours. In either case, these will be paid by the candidate's Service and/or Research Group.
