  • Promoure l'execució de projectes de recerca bàsica i tecnològica, els resultats dels quals puguin arribar a representar un avanç significatiu del coneixement mitjançant nous enfocaments i/o metodologies inabastables i que per naturalesa puguin tenir un marcat caràcter transversal. Els projectes Explora han estat dissenyats per finançar l'exploració d'idees heterodoxes i radicalment innovadores.
  • Els projectes que es presentin hauran de ser propostes de recerca imaginatives i radicals, la viabilitat de les quals pugui ser considerada baixa en programes convecionals, però en les que existeixin indicis que justifiquin empendre l'exploració amb l'ús de metodología científica.

En les xarxes ISCTS es persegueix la sostenibilitat com a foros estratègics de coordinació de les infraestructures. Amb les xarxes estratègiques es preten finançar instruments que ajudin a coordinar les activitats de les Alianzas de I+D+I, de les FET i les KIC.

    Fondation Leducq is a French non-profit health research foundation, the mission of which is to improve human health through international efforts to combat cardiovascular disease.

    The principal aim of this program is to bring together international teams of researchers with complementary expertise and resources so that they can accomplish together what the members could not do individually. The networks supported by the foundation should advance the science of cardiovascular and neurovascular disease, apply the knowledge gained through research towards the development of technology and therapeutics to improve human health, and support early-career investigators in cardiovascular and neurovascular disease.
    Each network is built around a transatlantic research alliance involving two network coordinators, the European Coordinator and the North American Coordinator.

    The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s Sofja Kovalevskaja Award is granted to young exceptionally promising researchers from abroad in recognition of outstanding academic achievements.
