DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE
The PRCRP was initiated in 2009 to provide support for cancer research of exceptional scientific merit not addressed by the breast cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, and ovarian cancer research programs executed and managed by the Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP).
The goal of the PRCRP is to improve quality of life by decreasing the impact of cancer on active duty service members, their families, and the American public. As such, the PRCRP will foster the next generation of cancer research by providing new opportunities to successfully pursue high-impact research for the prevention, detection, and treatment of cancer.

AVHF - ALEXANDER VON HUMBOLDT FOUNDATION
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s Sofja Kovalevskaja Award is granted to young exceptionally promising researchers from abroad in recognition of outstanding academic achievements. The award is designed to enable them to embark on academic careers in Germany by establishing their own junior research groups at research institutions in Germany.
The programme is open to scientists and scholars from all countries and disciplines who completed their doctorates with distinction less than six years ago. The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation particularly welcomes applications from qualified, female junior researchers.

INNOVATIVE MEDICINES INITIATIVE
IMI is a partnership between the European Union and the European pharmaceutical industry, represented by the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA).
The goal of the Innovative Medicines Initiative 2 (IMI 2) is to develop next generation vaccines, medicines and treatments, such as new antibiotics. It will build on the successes and lessons learnt under IMI. Like IMI, it will bring together companies, universities, public laboratories, innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), patient groups and regulators in collaborative projects that will pave the way for breakthrough vaccines, medicines and treatments to tackle Europe’s growing health challenges, and secure the future international competitiveness of Europe’s pharmaceutical industry.

MINECO - MINISTERIO DE ECONOMÍA Y COMPETITIVIDAD
The Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) and the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness (AEI-MINECO) invite early stage researchers based in Japan and Spain to submit collaborative research proposals for this call pertaining to the area of Nanomedicine. This call for collaborative proposals will require a set of applicants (co-applicants) who will be serving as co-Principal Investigators (PI) based in Japan and Spain to work in partnership on research projects. Japan-based applicants will be funded by AMED, while Spanish-based applicants will be funded by AEI-MINECO.

The aims of this call are to:
1) Strengthen research collaborations between Japan and Spain within the field of Nanomedicine;
2) Achieve world-class scientific results through the development and use of new and innovative technologies which can address the challenges facing the international community in the area of health research in both countries.

    The aim of the AAL Programme is to provide innovative Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) based solutions including products, systems or services to enhance older adults’ quality of life and to strengthen the industrial base in Europe. The main goal is to improve the autonomy, participation in social life, skills, and employability of older adults.

    The aim of this international call for proposals is to support innovative, transnational and multi-disciplinary collaborative projects developing ICT-based solutions by targeting any application area(s) within the AAL domain; the call text provides with further information on the relevant AAL taxonomy and the specified target markets. For the first time, the call allows for more flexibility regarding the scope, size and duration of the submitted projects by including a new type of instrument, namely the “small collaborative project”.

    The AAL Call 2018 has the following key features which differ in terms of scope and flexibility from previous AAL calls.
  • The AAL Call 2018 is open to developing ICT-based solutions targeting any application area(s) within the AAL domain. The solutions need to be embedded into the strategies of the participating end-user organisations, service providers and business partners. The wishes and aspirations of older adults in combination with the demands from the other stakeholders involved – e.g. providers and payers - will have a critical role in shaping useful and attractive AAL solutions with a high market potential.
  • The AAL Call 2018 allows for more flexibility regarding the scope, size and duration of the proposed projects.
