The European Commission has released the final Horizon Europe Work Programmes for 2026–27, allocating around €14 billion to support research and innovation across Europe. The package includes 13 work programmes, each outlining the plans for a specific Horizon Europe funding instrument or priority, and two documents introducing the rules and overarching strategic priorities.
Key updates
• The overall size of the programmes has been reduce by 33% to make them easier to navigate and to lower the administrative burden for applicants.
• Around half of the topics will now use lump-sum funding.
• 41 calls will adopt a two-stage submission process to streamline evaluations.
