Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer, Inc.
Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer, Inc. (WOKC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funding pediatric cancer research.
WOKC provides grants to support meritorious research ranging from basic laboratory investigation to clinical management of pediatric cancers. For all awarded grants, collaboration with a pediatric cancer treatment center and an institution with basic and/or clinical research programs are encouraged.

HUMAN FRONTIER SCIENCE PROGRAMME

L'HFSP dóna suport a recerca bàsica innovadora sobre problemes biològics fonamentals, amb l'èmfasi posat en un enfocament novedós que suposi intercanvis científics entre països i disciplines.

Les Long Term Fellowships estan dirigides a doctors en alguna disciplina de la biologia que vulguin començar un projecte nou en un camp diferent de les ciències de la vida. Es donarà preferència a aquells sol·licitants que proposin un estudi original en biologia que s'aparti del seu doctorat o treball post-doctoral previ.

Les Cross-Disciplinary Fellowships estan orientades a doctors en matèries alienes a les ciències de la vida (per exemple física, química, matemàtiques, enginyeria o informàtica) que han tingut un contacte limitat amb la biologia en la seva formació prèvia. Els sol·licitants han d'apartar-se de la seva recerca anterior de manera significativa, per exemple canviant de ciència de materials o física a biologia cel·lular, de química a biologia molecular o de informàtica a neurociències, entre d'altres possibilitats.

El programa només finança candidats excel·lents que proposin projectes innovadors i trencadors. El projecte proposat ha de tenir el potencial d'avançar en el coneixement del seu camp d'estudi, d'obrir una nova aproximació al problema objecte de la recerca i pot incloure recerca d'alt risc.

    Podran optar al premi els treballs que descriguin investigacions clíniques o aplicades per al millor coneixement i tractament de les patologies pròpies del ronyó o associades a les funcions renals.
